– Fusion Hotel Group has announced a key appointment in Thailand as the wellness-inspired luxury brand continues to expand its presence in Southeast Asia.
Mr. Markus Gloor, a Swiss national with three decades of experience in the hospitality sector in Switzerland and Thailand, has been promoted to the position of Regional Director for the Group from Feb. 1.
Previously the Director of Operations in Thailand, he joined GLOW Hotels & Resorts in 2014 and helped establish and grow the brand until its merger with Fusion Hotel Group in 2021. He has also contributed to the expanding of the brand presenting in Thailand, overseeing the launch of Fusion Suites Phuket Patong and GLOW Bangkok Riverside in 2024, and ensuring the smooth operations of other GLOW Hotels and Resorts in Thailand.
Fusion said in a statement it was looking to expand to new regions in Southeast Asia in 2025, and in his new role Mr. Markus will take on the added responsibility of opening and overseeing new properties outside of Thailand and Vietnam.
“Markus brings a wealth of experience and skills, including a multi-disciplinary approach to operations and strategic business planning, as well as a strong focus on both guest service satisfaction and driving strong financial results,” said Fusion Hotel Group Chief Operating Officer David Roberts.
As Regional Director, he will oversee our properties in Thailand, working closely with owners and general managers to ensure staff satisfaction, enhancing the guest experience, and meeting business goals while driving growth in Thailand and neighboring countries.
Mr. Markus had been instrumental in building the Fusion and GLOW brands in Thailand, and that under his stewardship the Group expected to expand its footprint in Thailand and elsewhere this year, Mr. David said further.
